Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Oncology unit, which provides care to both Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical patients. This busy surgical floor focuses on delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population. Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with various surgical oncology diagnoses. Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and IV antibiotics. Address oncologic emergencies and manage complex patient needs, including insulin and heparin drips. Implement infection prevention protocols and monitor for patient safety, specifically falls. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Float within the scope of practice as required by unit needs. Patient Population Adults Geriatrics Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience. At least 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. ONS chemotherapy certification is preferred. Shift Details Shifts will be 12 hours, with potential rotation between day and night shifts based on unit needs. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as there is no set or blocked scheduling. Unit Specifics The Surgical Oncology unit has a high patient volume and operates with a staffing goal of 1:4, allowing for a maximum ratio of 1:5. Weekend shifts may vary depending on staffing needs. Charting System Utilize EPIC for computerized charting in patient care documentation. Parking Information Agency staff have various parking permit options available for purchase, including monthly and annual permits. These permits provide access to multiple parking locations with shuttle service available during peak hours.
