Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse contributes professional clinical knowledge and expertise in the provision and management of patient care within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Shift Details Start Time: 1900 36-hour guarantee Every other weekend and holiday commitment Floating required to all inpatient areas and Emergency Department Unit Details The 6SW Unit provides care with an emphasis on a variety of patient needs, including: Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) Ablation Angiogram Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Stroke Pacemaker management Sepsis The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4, with the potential to extend to 1:5 under certain circumstances. Certification and Licensing Requirements Current active Iowa or compact nursing license BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted) ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted) NIHSS certification Professional Experience Requirements A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a progressive care or similar setting is required. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Additional Information Orientation dates are set for 10/12 and 10/26.
