Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role requires flexibility in floating to all inpatient and emergency department areas as needed. Shift Details Start Time: 1900 36 or 48 hour guarantee Every other weekend and holiday required Floating required Unit Information Patient Ratios: 1:4 (can go up to 1:5) Types of Patients and Surgeries: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Ablation, Angiogram, Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR), Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR), Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), Stroke, Pacemaker, Sepsis Orientation Dates October 26 November 9 Winter Holiday Requirements The traveler will be required to work two out of three holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and may request a limit of one day off between November 25-29 and December 23-27. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting Must hold an active Iowa nursing license or compact nursing license Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Work history documentation Skills checklist specific to Progressive Care Unit One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years Valid driver’s license Additional Requirements The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline across different locations within the region.
