Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Shift Notes Start time: 1900 36 or 48 hour guarantee Every other weekend and holiday required Floating to various units required Weekend Requirements Must work every other weekend. Orientation Dates November 23 December 7 December 21 Winter Holiday Requirements Travelers are required to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day). A maximum of 1 day off request is allowed between November 25-29 and December 23-27. Unit Details Patient Ratios: 1:4 (may go 1:5) Floating required to all inpatient areas and the emergency department Common conditions treated include CHF, Ablation, Angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, Stroke, Pacemaker, and sepsis Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit Required to float to the emergency department and all inpatient areas First-time travelers are welcome The traveler may be required to float within the same discipline across multiple locations within the region Certification Requirements Active ACLS certification Active BLS certification Active NIHSS certification Additional Requirements Active nursing license in Iowa or a compact nursing license Completion of a skills checklist specific to the PCU discipline One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years Valid driver's license This is an exciting opportunity for registered nurses looking for a travel position in a dynamic healthcare environment.
