Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in acute care to join our dynamic team. This position focuses primarily on the care of newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients, with an emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive patient care for adults and geriatrics in a step-down unit. Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias. Administer IV therapy and manage phlebotomy procedures. Conduct blood product administration and peripheral line care. Manage central and PICC lines, including blood draws. Utilize Rapid Response Teams as necessary. Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to support patient needs. Requirements Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a progressive care unit (PCU). Certifications Required: BLS ACLS Preferred Certifications: ONS Chemo Certification NIHSS Skills Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Feeding tube care and management. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills. Central line and peripheral line management. Starting IVs in various clinical settings. Work Schedule This position may involve rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, based on unit needs. Scheduling assignments are reviewed every 4 weeks and are subject to staffing priorities.
