Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry or Stepdown units to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care and requires quick adaptation to various clinical situations. Shift Notes Days: 4x12 hour shifts 48 hours per week (36 hours can be accommodated if preferred) Holiday rotation required No on-call responsibilities Every other weekend commitment Holiday Requirements Contractors are required to work 1-2 of the following upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year. Unit Information Bed Size: 18 Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 on average; critical patients are 1:2-3 Patient Types: Med Surg patients, including bipap and critical gtts Common Drips: Insulin, Levophed, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Dobutamine, Propofol (transfer only) Specialty Equipment: Bipap, critical gtts, tracheostomy care, home CPAP, Airvo Scrub Color: Navy blue or black; solids only Qualifications Minimum of 15 months experience in IMCU, PCU, Stepdown, or Med Surg / Med Tele required New travelers welcome with at least 24 months of experience Experience with Bipap, tracheostomies, and Airvo required Experience managing Levophed and Cardizem drips required Experience managing insulin drips highly preferred EPIC EMR experience required Certification Requirements Current BLS certification (AHA preferred) Current ACLS certification (AHA preferred) NIHSS certification preferred State License Requirements Active Iowa Registered Nurse license required.
