Job Description

Emerald Health Services is hiring a Travel RN - PCU 5th West

Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a (12x3) 36 hours per week, EOW

Length: 13 Weeks

Requirements:

  • NC license
  • 2 Years Experience
  • Experience with IV start, telemetry and conscious sedation
  • Preferred skills are as follows: Triage, Charge Nurse experience, Level 1 Trauma experience, PA lines, Scrub, Circulate
  • BCLS, ACLS, NIH
  • Will accept 1st time traveler
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
Floating required as needed to sister unit which is an ICCU also.
ADC:18 with 20 Beds. ICU stepdown. Post rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-op: GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies, neuro, ortho surgeries. Pre/post OB with complications (Pitocin).
Patient age from adolescent, adult, geriatric. Unit Systems used are Pyxis and Epic. Only one pressor drip per patient, any more and they're transferred to ICU.
Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo drips given on unit.

REQUIRED: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications as well as experience with IV start, telemetry and conscious sedation. Preferred skills are as follows: Triage, Charge Nurse experience, Level 1 Trauma experience, PA lines, Scrub, Circulate.

Minimum of 2 yrs experience. Will accept 1st time traveler.
2 days of Orientation, Self schedule but then adjusted/balanced by unit leadership as needed.

Special Equipment: Bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup. Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. A-lines, BIPAP's, chest tubes, trach's, there are no vents on unit.
