Job Description

Emerald Health Services is hiring a Travel RN - ER (PEDS)

Shift: Nights / 7p-7a, 12x4, 36's/48's hrs per week, 

Length: 13 weeks

workweek Sunday through Monday. Expected to work 2 holidays
Weekend: Yes - every other

Requirements:

  • WA License
  • 2 Years’ Experience, Designated pediatric experience
  • Pediatric ED experience required
  • IV start experience required
  • Triage experience required
  • Conscious sedation experience required
  • Titration of pressors and insulin drips experience required
  • Phlebotomy and EKG required
  • CPEN or CEN preferred
  • CPI preferred
  • Prefer Childrens Pedi ER experience / If mixed ED experience call percentage of pedi volume seen/ diagnosis cared for/beds
  • ICP monitoring experience preferred
  • Vents experience preferred
  • ICP experience preferred
  • Telemetry experience preferred
  • Charge Nurse experience preferred
  • Level 1 trauma experience preferred
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Accepts 1st time travelers
  • BLS, PALS

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience required: Designated pediatric experience
- Titration of drips experience required- common practice for nurses to titrate pressors and insulin drips. (Dopamine/Dobutamine/Norepi)
- Need to be able to recognize signs/symptoms of increased ICP and how to intervene (not required to monitor external shunts)
- Pediatric ED experience required - please add to summary note the percentage of pediatric experience in the current ER, if experience is other than a Children's Hospital
- IV start experience required
- Triage experience required
- Conscious sedation experience required
- Titration of pressors and insulin drips experience required
Preferred Experience:

- Population: neonates to 21 years of age: Hem/Onc, cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, transplant, medically complex, multiple comorbidities, DKA, Mental Health, (same as other Community Health Assessment), infectious disease
- Interpretation - person, phone, video
- Primary care model - nursing task heavy
- Fast Track patients placed throughout unit
- Behavioral Health / Mental Health - high volume
- 30 plus sub-specialties
- Fast track- coverage at 5PM
- 40-50% admissions come through the ED
- Limited nurse initiated order sets
- Ask Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ) - 10 years and older
- Screening - Child Sex/human Trafficking -
- Nursing - nebs /breathing treatments
- Assign ER RN as rapid intake nurse triage/medical eval for medical emergencies on hospital property (approx. 1 shift in 6 weeks)
