You may have seen Wanda The Pineapple floating around– the smiling, friendly pineapple Wanderly has almost everywhere it goes. Wanda represents the platform we hold to empower nurses with accurate data to better evaluate their next travel assignment, increase accountability and transparency, which we hope will increase trust in within the industry.
Wanderly was founded early in 2017 and officially launched in September 2017 at The Travelers Conference in Las Vegas. This is where Wanda, The Wanderly Pineapple and all of her welcomeness, hospitality, and friendship was released into the wild. But rewind a few months to May when our marketing team was just starting to present concepts of the pineapple. One of our founders got so excited saying “the pineapple is amazing, but we need a mascot”. Little did he know, the next slide was a pineapple named Wanda.
The process of developing a brand for a startup is a challenging process. Essentially, it’s a bet on the future, but luckily, it was made by a group of shareholders with over 40+ years of industry experience and 20+ years of marketing experience. Since the start, the process of Wanderly’s culture has been consistent in listening to the user, studying trends and developing innovative solutions for travel nurses, and agencies. Wanda represents these aspects through Wanderly.
Through our research, we’ve found that agencies welcome travel nurses into their home like it’s their own. They strive to take the best care of the travel nurse who put themselves before all their patients. With that, the relationship between travel nurses, recruiters, and agencies are incredibly strong. The system and hoops all these folks jump through are inefficient and Wanderly strives to improve this, one assignment at a time.
